Sam Tremble led the way for Springville last Friday in a 62-35 win over Hayden. Tremble scored 19 points to go with seven steals and four rebounds. Matt Margavio added 13 points, five steals and four rebounds.
Before the guys took the court, the Lady Tigers defeated the previously unbeaten Lady Wildcats 61-59.
The Lady Tigers came out swinging and were up 14-7 at the end of the first. By halftime Hayden had closed the lead to 29-28, Springville.
After the half, Hayden weren’t going to take things lightly and by the end of the third, the score was tied 43-43. The Lady tigers were able to hold onto the lead, and brought in the area win.
Jordyne Buckner was the top scorer in that game with 23 points, she also had three rebounds, steals and assists; Reshika Newsome was spending a lot of time taking the D to Hayden, as she had 15 rebounds and 10 steals, she also had 18 points; Kayla Tremble had nine points and six rebounds.
The Springville Tigers breezed by Ashville last Tuesday 59-38 in Ashville. For the Tigers, Sam Tremble dropped 20 points, pulled in four rebounds and added three steals. Josh Gibson had nine points, five rebounds, four steals and four assists.
The Lady Tigers defeated Ashville 54-42 that night. Though Ashville got their sea legs in the second half, they could not get the points needed for the win.
Rashika Newsome had 15 points and 10 rebounds on the night while Jordyne Buckner had 12 points.
