Andrew Nelson readies to block while Kyle Leonard drops back to pass.

Still seeking their first win, Victory Christian’s Lions host Westbrook Christian at 7 p.m. Friday.

“They have some good players, but they’re not as experienced a team as they’ve been in the past,” head coach Scotty Smith said following Victory’s 47-6 Homecoming loss to Sand Rock. “Their strength is their offensive line, and they have a good running back.”

As for Sand Rock, he summed up the game in four words.

“We just got killed.  They’re 3-3, but their losses are to Fyffe and Ider, which are really good teams, and Glencoe, which is a 3A school that beat them by one point.  Sand Rock went to the Final Four in basketball last year, and all those kids play football, so they just wore us out.”

The Lions’ only score came on a five-yard touchdown run by Alex Nelson in the third quarter.
