Congratulations to Valerie Brazzolotto, daughter of Serge and Sarah Manning Brazzolotto, of Pell City who graduated from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, on Saturday morning, August 6, 2011 with a BS Degree in elementary education. Graduation Exercises for the 2600 students were held in the Coliseum at the university. Valerie will be teaching third grade at St. Barnabas Catholic School in the Birmingham area. Valerie has one brother, Matthew. Her maternal grandparents are Jeanette Ramsey Manning and the late Jerry “Buddy” Manning of Ragland. I didn’t get the names of her paternal grandparents before press time. Valerie’s late Grandfather, Jerry Manning was born and reared in Coal City. He would have been so proud of her. We, of this community who know Valerie and her family are very proud of her and our well wishes go out to her as she begins her teaching career. She plans to continue her education and attain a Master degree later on.
