It was a big week this week in Odenville. Saturday we celebrated spring with a party at the school. There was fun and games for all including an Easter egg hunt. The ladies at the United Methodist Church had a yummy bake sale and then we ended the day with a great Cruise In at the pig. I hope you all got to take in some of the festivities.

We had our book club on Tuesday the 7th come by the library and see what new book we are reading this month.

Also on Tuesday we had our monthly art club meeting. This months guest speaker was our own Carol Simon-Lane. Carol is an artist currently living in Pell City Al. She was born and raised in Atlanta and graduated from Oakwood University in 2000. Her medium is Acrylics Drawing Im pencil and charcoal and Photography. Her work is on display at the library, come on in and check it out.

Carol shared some of her grandmothers paintings and sculptures as well as her poetry. Carols Grandmother was Jewel Woodward Simon A well-known artist and poetess. Her work was exhibited in hundreds of shows around the world.

Carol has spent the last few years gathering information about her grandmothers extensive art career. We are very lucky that Carol has chosen our little Art Club to share her talent.

There is one thing more I would like to share with you all. My husband and I had the pleasure of having a wonderful meal at The Gulf Seafood Restaurant in Odenville. The service was great and the food delicious.
