The St. Clair News-Aegis has a new team with Morgan Thayer joining as content editor and Melissa Byars as the new sales representative. Both started this week.
Thayer is a recent graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery where she earned a bachelors degree in communication journalism. She wrote for the AUMnibus and Oddesy Online and also served on the student government association. During her time at AUM, she was an active member of the Delta Zeta sorority where she held many positions and served on several different councils. Thayer said, “I love journalism and newspapers, and I am excited to be able to be a part of the St. Clair News-Aegis. I can not wait to meet those within the community and begin this amazing new journey.”
Byars is a marketing and promotions specialist with 10 years of experience. Before beginning her career with The St. Clair News, she worked as an independent marketing brand management contractor. Byars is excited to be joining the North Jefferson News & St. Clair News-Aegis.
“My passion is helping local business thrive through brand strategy and helping them meet their marketing goals through exposure with the newspaper, magazine and online presence. I am truly blessed to work with some amazing people who truly believe in team work.”
Katherine Miller, general manager for the St. Clair News-Aegis, said, “We’re happy to have this new team in place and serving the readers of St. Clair County. They’re going to be engaged in the community, telling the stories of the people and places and promoting the businesses located there.”
