* A new contract was approved for a Canon workroom copier for city hall. The copier will have the same capabilities as the current one, for $48 per month less than what the city currently pays.

* A $270 expenditure for three police car tires was approved. The tires are $90 each and were purchased from Goodyear.

* $319 for a new cutting edge and teeth for the city’s backhoe was approved. Public Works Director Wayne Taylor said the backhoe is six years old, and this is the first time these parts have been replaced.

* The Moody Fire Department was approved to hire a part-time employee to fill in for a firefighter/medic who is having surgery. Mayor Joe Lee said former Odenville Police Chief David Davis will likely be hired to fill the position.
