Among the people attending the ribbon cutting was, Chamber of Commerce president Eddie Gilreath, Chamber of Commerce board member Deborah Dyer, Chamber Director Erica Greve, Jeff Jones, Matt Mitchem and Judge Phil Seay.

Tuesday afternoon Lily Designs and Benchmark Construction in Pell City held their ribbon cutting to open their new business.
Renee Lily, of Lily Designs and Dennis Smothers of Benchmark Construction, have teamed up to create an interior design business.
The ribbon cutting was followed by live music, food and drinks for all the people in attendance. Their goal was to get people interested to come in another time for business with the interior design. Smothers and Lily also put rubber ducks in a fountain for door prizes.
Lily said that her schedule would be Tuesday through Saturday during regular business hours. They welcome everyone to their business.
“It’s nice, we have a lot of people here at the ribbon cutting. It is lots of fun,” said Lily.
In their front lobby, Lily already has a few things for interior designing set up and ready to sell.
Both Smothers and Lily have said that they hope business picks up quickly, but since it has only just opened and they haven’t gotten the word out, they both understand that it may take a while.
Lily said, “With such a good turn out, I think that business will be fine, it will take a little bit, but it’s all worth the work put into it.”
