Ron Partain has been interested in music as a profession since 1977, when at a Christmas party he was reflecting on how to take care of his children.
So with $1000 cash and a dream, he opened Ron Partain’s World of Music in 1978 and has been a staple in downtown Pell City ever since. The store celebrated 40 years in business in February.
“Pell City has been good to us,” Partain said, “and we’ve tried to be a good participant in the community.”
The music store sells a variety of instruments and offers lessons on piano, guitar, banjo, ukelele, violin, drums, and mandolin.
“I am very grateful,” said Partain. “The joy I have watching students come out with their eyes dancing with joy because they’ve created music.”
The Pell City Chamber of Commerce presented the World of Music with Business of the Month on July 12.
“We are grateful to have them as part of our community,” said Chamber Board president Brandon Turner.
Ron Partain’s World of Music is located at 1914 Cogswell Ave., Pell City. For more information, visit www.worldofmusicpc.com or call 205-884-2512.
