Fall is here but no one can tell because it's still hot as blazes and it's making me very grumpy. Fall is what we will call "my Boo.” Every year I wait with abated breath and unconcealed anticipation for it to arrive, only for it to arrive later and later. It does not stop me from dressing the part, even if I have stripped most of it off by noon. Sweaters, scarves and boots are assuredly not meant for 95 degree weather. It makes for a very sweaty and uncomfortable Diva.

Lets get to the news.

Eden Career Tech Center (ECTC) will host an Open House next Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5-7 p.m.. Learn more about the tech center and great programs, meet our teachers and staff, and have dinner with us. Everyone welcome!

This year's rivalry game against Springville will have a united front. Last year when SCCHS needed support to finish our football season, Springville stepped up without hesitation and went above and beyond to help us by hosting the remainder of our games. This year our community has the opportunity to return the show of support during the SCCHS vs Springville on Oct. 25. Shirts will be on sale to wear during the game in support of Mr. Winslett, principal at Springville High School who is battling cancer.

All proceeds will go to Mr. Winslett and his family. The tshirt is $15, $2 more for 2xl and 3xl. Donations will also be accepted. Please make checks payable to Virgil Winslett. Please contact Christi Pardue at 205-505-1640 or christipardue@gmail.com to order your tshirt.

Congrats to SCCHS Senior Audrey Roll on being crowned Homecoming Queen. Audrey is the daughter of Chris and Brandi Roll and Adam and Christi Pardue.

That's all for this week. Send your Odenville news to odenvillenews@gmail.com
