Kevin Welbourne, 36, of Odenville was reported missing to the Odenville Police Department on Monday, July 1.

Welbourne’s wife contacted local law enforcement and reported him missing after he failed to return home Monday after leaving work in Pinson around 4 p.m.

On July 3, his body was found near a vehicle on an old dirt road at the intersection of AL Hwy. 23 and Evergreen Rd. in Springville. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a call in the area and discovered the body of Welbourne around 1:54 p.m.

The scene was immediately secured and investigators with the Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the case and no further details have been released.

The body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville for an autopsy. According to St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell, it can take up to two to three months to receive results of the cause of death.
