Hundreds of first responders, churches and citizens lined Main Street of Springville to honor Springville firefighter-paramedic Jared Echols who passed away on June 17 while training at the Alabama Fire College in Anniston.
Scores of area fire trucks, police cars and others participated in a processional of fire and emergency apparatus that started at the high school and passed through Springville’s Main Street on Highway 11 to Fire Station #1, where a memorial wreath laying service took place with full honors on Friday, June 21.
The funeral for Jared Echols was held Friday, June 21 at 2 p.m. at The Church at Bradford Road in Springville. The funeral services were also viewed live-streamed in the gymnasium at Springville High School as an overflow location.
An announcement was made to all first responders that Echols’ call numbers 521 and 2605 would be retired, “in recognition of his duty and service to the community and to his department.”
