The Springville Public Library hosted Princess Ariel and Princess Tiana for Preschool Storytime on June 20 and the Anniston Museum of Natural History presented "Alabama Animals" on June 26 as part of the Library’s Summer Reading Programs.

The Springville First United Methodist Church in partnership with the Springville Elementary School Lunchroom will offer Picnic in the Park on Wednesday evenings at Big Springs Park from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. as part of its student summer feeding program.

Twelve Springville Anglers competed in the 2019 Alabama High School B.A.S.S. Nation State Championship Tournament on Lake Eufaula earlier in June. The final standings for the Anglers were: 23rd place:Beck/Cowley 27.93 lbs; 49th place: Henderson/Swann 25.34 lbs; 55th place: Kellum/Sims 24.41 lbs; 65th place: Butler/Howard 23.00 lbs, 80th place; Bowers/Jonio 19.02 lbs; 149th place: Parnell/Chastain 7.52 lbs.

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 - 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members.
