Easter Celebrations:

Cropwell Baptist invites you to join them for an Easter Egg hunt in the back-parking lot on Saturday April 13 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. They will have a telling of the Easter story and other fun activities.

Victory Church invites you to its Annual Helicopter Egg Drop on Sunday, April 14. at 12 noon • Services at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.. Over 15,000 eggs! A Dunk Tank, Free Popcorn, and more! There will also be a Food Truck selling BBQ for lunch so make plans to stick around!  

Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church is having its Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. 2,000 eggs, free food and family fun. 

Holy Week Worship Schedule is April 15-19, at Noon, followed by lunch (nursery available). Speakers are Monday, Rev. Chris Beck, Mt. Pisgah Church; Tues., Rev. Billy Bedford, First Baptist Church of Riverside; Wed., Rev. Jacky Connell, Eden-Westside Baptist Church; Thurs., Rev. William Lucas, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church; and Fri., Rev. Byron Vance, First United Methodist Church. Thurs. evening, 6pm will be Maundy Thursday Service.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Chick-fil-A in Pell City on Sat., April 13 from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Don’t feel like hiding eggs in your yard this year for Easter? That’s okay, just call 205-338-0774 to have the PCHS Varsity Cheerleaders do it for you. Order your candy-filled eggs to be hidden in your yard Saturday night and ready to be hunted on Easter Sunday morning. Or, you can order and surprise a friend or neighbor. 25 eggs will cost you $15 and 50 eggs will cost $25, and both includes a letter from the Easter Bunny. This is a fundraiser for the cheerleaders and a great idea. You must live in Pell City, Riverside, or Cropwell.

In April, Spotlight and the Rotary Club of Pell City will present the hit Broadway musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” You can support your community theater and the amazing local actors by catching “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at CEPA on April 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. and April 14 at 2 p.m.  Reserve your tickets by visiting pellcitycepa.com/tickets 

The 4th Annual Pell City Historical Walking Tours, which began last Sat., April 6, are held every Saturday in April with the tour times at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. You can learn all about the rich and fascinating history of the buildings and stores downtown as you stroll Cogswell Ave with your guide. he Tours will all start at City Hall. Arrive 15 minutes prior to each tour for registration and information. Entertainment, cars, food and fun will be provided on various Saturdays. Bring the entire family!

Pell City Garden Club Sale on May 4 at the Rec Hall on 19th Street at 9 a.m. Plan to go early. Best plants always go first.

Yoga By the Lake Spring 2019-yoga sessions for all levels, followed by pot-lunch brunch by the lake. Address is 864 Fishers Way, Vincent, but this is actually only one mile from the Logan Martin Dam. For more inform and to make reservations, call 205-789-6106. Cost is $10.

Special birthday wishes to my youngest daughter, Lisa Dobbs, who lives away in Milton, FL. And who will celebrate her birthday tomorrow, April 13. She is not close by but is always close in my heart. Also, special birthday wishes to my grandson, Eli Vaughan and to my grandson-in-law, Nick Doty. Happy birthday to others, including Dennis Goodgame, Steve Polk, April Donohoo, April Abel, Nick Nixon, Jimmy Cagle, Prissy Patterson Caufield, Susan Cornett Pearson, Andrea Thomas, Jeri Hudgel, Barbara Brooks, Connie Millican, Denise Jernigan, Paula Lett, Jason Cooper Mitcham, Noelle Amanda Tuck, Gunner Jacob Patterson, and Carla Slovensky.

Please remember Jim and Diane Gann. Their daughter, Cindy, passed away this past week. 

Please keep Dewitt Morgan in your thoughts and prayers. His sweet wife, Delores, reports that he is not doing well. Also, pray for Danny and Bruce Nixon, both whom are very ill.
