Congratulations to Tanner Wilder on winning the AJGO Tournament Sunday at Musgrove CC in Jasper, AL. He had a great winning round of 72, in the rain. I know his daddy, Norman, is very proud of him.
Congratulations to the PCHS Football team on winning its game against Crossville on Friday night with a score of 24-6. Plans were to play Scottsboro, but they had to forfeit due to some on the team having Covid. So, PCHS Panthers had two wins on Friday.
Congratulations to Eden Elementary Teacher, Dr. Andy Jackson, who was named Alabama Teacher of the Year and Elementary Teacher of the Year for State School Board District Six. Also, Dr. Jackson was presented a $2,800 grant by the Alabama State Board of Education and the Alabama State Dept. of Education. We are so proud of you Dr. Jackson.
Congratulations to Mrs. Tammy Mitchell, PCHS Librarian, on her retirement. Mrs. Mitchell served in the Pell City School System for 30 years. Beginning Tues., Oct. 27th and continuing through the 2nd 9 weeks, PCHS will be offering FREE tutoring sessions for PCHS virtual and traditional students from 4-6pm in the cafeteria. Small in-person and zoom sessions with teachers will be provided in all subjects. Check the availability on the PCHS website under student resources.
The free breakfast and lunch program, sponsored by USDA, has been extended through the end of the school year for ALL TRADITIONAL students.

Visit Jamison Taylor’s School of Music on Halloween night for its annual Halloween party. There will be a haunted maze in the camp tent, so the event is still on whether rain or shine. Free admission, games, and of course, candy.
Trunk or Treats in the area: Victory Church will hold a drive-thru trunk or treat on Sat., Oct. 31st from 5-7pm.
This Friday at 10:30am will be the Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting for Mitcham Guns and Outdoors.
At CEPA, Spotlight Studio has its new collaborative multimedia effort that will focus on digital media. It will include videos, podcasts, and more. The studio will launch October 29, so be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
PCHS Drama Club presents Peter and the Starcatcher, November 20-22 at CEPA. A twist on the story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). The boy encounters many obstacles along his journey including pirates, tyrants, and Starcatchers. With the help of Molly, an Starcatcher apprentice, and his fellow orphan friends they will need more than star stuff to help them through this adventure.
