Hello everyone. The air has a little coolness to it and feeling more like fall.

If you have not thanked a veteran, it is not too late, even if Veterans’ Day has passed. Thank you to all who have served and are serving.

Special birthday wishes to my great granddaughter, Lennox Vaughan, who turned 3 on Nov 4th, and my grandchildren, Jeremy Adams and Jennifer Adams. Lennox include mom and dad, Summer and Eli Vaughan, and brothers, Dax, Sawyer, and Breck and grandparents, Tommy (Chief) and Barbara (Abuela) Vaughan.

Pell City’s Third Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival will be on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at the St. Clair County Courthouse. Performances by local talent, Santa Clause photos, Business After Hours, Arts & Crafts and Christmas Decorating Contest.

PCHS Drama Club presents Peter and the Starcatcher, Nov.20-22 at CEPA. A twist on the story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up(a.k.a. Peter Pan). The boy encounters many obstacles along his journey including pirates, tyrants, and Starcatchers. With the help of Molly, a Starcatcher apprentice, and his fellow orphan friends they will need more than star stuff to help them through this adventure.

Congratulations to April Carter who was named Pell City High School Teacher of the Year for 2021.

Mrs. Tammie Williams was made an Honorary Commander after her many years of serving the Pell City School System. JROTC presented her with this award, a rate honor bestowed upon very few people.

Pell City School System is offering a battery powered, portable hotspot (internet) that has no contract, no extra fees, and no data throttling for $38 per month. If you are an employee or have a student in the Pell City Schools and would like to be contacted, you can contact the Pell City Board of Education Central Office.

The Pell City High School Beta Club is sponsoring a Thanksgiving Food Drive. You can donate non-perishable food from Nov. 11–Nov. 20. Proceeds will go to the Christian Love Pantry.

Pell City Duran North Jr. High is selling RADA Cutlery as their fundraiser. These products are made in the USA and I understand they are wonderful. So, if interested, please go to Duran North’s Facebook page, O.D. Duran Junior High School-North and click on the link. They will make great Christmas presents.

Congratulations to October’s Business of the Month (PC Chamber of Commerce) Monkey Bizness. Owned and operated by Michelle Leigh Tumlin who is supported by her wonderful store associate, who is also her mother, Debbie Daboin. Currently hours of operation are Tuesday-Friday 11a.m.-5p.m.and Saturday 11a.m.-4p.m.

Congratulations to Duran South 7th grade basketball team who won their first game last week. The team is coached by Wendall Young.

Pell City High School’s first boys’ basketball game is on Nov. 20 against St. Clair County in Odenville. JV plays at 4:30pm and Varsity plays at 7:30pm. The first girls’ basketball game was played on Mon., the 9th at Sylacauga. I will post scores next week.

The first home game for all the teams will be on Dec. 1st against Thompson. I will keep you informed of times closer to the games. Go Panthers.

I do have a vested interested in PCHS basketball. My grandson, Michael Snow, will be playing on the JV team this year.

Please keep the families of Annette Warren, Ron Funderburg, and Barry Miller in your thoughts and prayers as they passed away recently.
