The Moody Miracle League members had a wonderful time this past weekend at Tim Tebow’s A Night to Shine prom at Trussville Civic Center hosted by Crosspoint Church. Included in the evening was a makeup and hair station that attendees could take advantage of and each person received a corsage or boutonniere when they arrived. Everyone walked the red carpet and had their photos taken. There was plenty of food and a limo was available for rides around the parking lot. They all had fun dancing and singing along. Tim Tebow shared a message on the big screen and everyone received crowns and tiaras.
The Leeds Arts Council will be hosting a play, “The 39 Steps,” Feb. 15-17 and 22-24 at Leeds Theatre and Arts Center. “The 39 Steps” is a 1915 novel by John Buchan and a 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock. This production is not that book and not that movie. “The 39 Steps” is a comedy based on characters from the novel and movie, but handled in a Monty Python style with actors performing multiple roles. The script that will be performed was developed by Simon Corble, Nobby Dimon and adapted by playwright, Patrick Barlow. This reincarnation of “The 39 Steps” is performed by a small community theatre company of only four actors. Lots of quick costume changes, English, Scottish and German accents, train rides, airplane crashes, a hero wrongly accused of murder who eventually clears his name and finds love on the Scottish moors. This show has it all! Suellen Wilkins directs this comic mayhem. The Leeds art gallery will open one hour prior to performances. Please call 205-699-1892 for ticket reservations at $10 per person.
