The Safe Routes to School Sidewalk Program is nearing completion. The City of Leeds sidewalk improvement and construction program has reached another milestone as the route from Leeds High School to Highway 78/Parkway Drive has been finished and the portion from Highway 78 to Memorial Park along President Street has a significant portion completed. Along with the good news that this new sidewalk project is joining the already completed middle school project, the contract for the concrete was won by our own Sherman (LeHigh) Cement Company.
The Three Earred Rabbit Café will add a second location in Leeds in the corner building across from Regions Bank on the Parkway where the old Top Notch Catering and Powers Café was located. They are looking for pictures or nostalgia so if you have anything you would like to donate, please contact Christine Leonardi at their Trussville location.
ALAGASCO, now called SPIRE, is installing a new gas line infrastructure down Lane Drive. Through a cooperative program with the City of Leeds, they have agreed to place the new line along the street rather than under the street to prevent having to cut the pavement in the event of a leak.

Chick-fil-A Leeds is partnering with Centerpoint Area Outstanding Teen Emmy Beason and Leeds Area Outstanding Teen Zoe Champion to bring you an Enchanted Evening to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network. On Saturday Feb. 24 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., real life Leeds area Princesses will be available to take pictures with your little princes and princesses. A prize wheel will be set up and donations will be accepted for a chance to win great Chick-fil-A goodies and other door prizes. A makeup artist will be on site to transform you from dull to dazzling and we will be adding other entertainment as the date nears. 10% of the proceeds from Saturday’s sales and all donations will go to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.
