Congratulations to Jim “Jimbo” Tollison of Coal City who was recently elected President of the St. Clair County Farmers Federation! He was recognized during the President’s Luncheon at the Alabama Farmer’s Federation’s 98th annual meeting, Dec. 9, in Montgomery. He received a pin to commemorate his election. Jim affectionately known as “Jimbo,” lives with his wife Brooke and their two children, 13 year-old Jay and 10 year-old Claire on Tollison Road in Coal City. We, the residents of this community are very proud of “Jimbo” for being the recipient of this honor.
Also, congratulations to Urainah Glidewell, the former Content Manager for the St. Clair News Aegis who has assumed the role of Pell City Chamber Executive Director, which was effective Dec.16. The Pell City Chamber Board of Directors made this announcement in early December.
I have greatly enjoyed my acquaintance/association with Urainah these past months that she was employed with the St. Clair News Aegis, where I am also employed as a Community News Correspondent. She goes above and beyond the call of duty. I admire a person of that character trait. Therefore, it’s been a privilege to work for/with a person of Urainah’s stature. We extend our best wishes to her as she assumes this new role.
Happy birthday to my great-grandson, Brodie Scott who was 13 years old Dec. 29, my longtime friend, Julie Golden, Dec. 30, my cousin and friend, Jerry Willingham, Dec. 31, and my friend, Kathy Walker, Jan. 5!
