Moody —
Teams from across the state will come to play in the Miracle League World Series in Moody on June 18 and 19.
The Miracle League, the first fully assessable handicapped field in Alabama, works to give handicapped players a place where everyone can "hit, run and score," said Phillip Deason, volunteer. All of the participants will receive a trophy.
The Lion's Club will also be cooking Boston Butts for $20 on June 19 to raise money for the Miracle League. The money will go toward things like uniforms, insurance and special events throughout the year.
"How can you put a price on something they're able to do now that they weren't able to do before?" Deason said. He said people will see the "pure sense of playing baseball. No winners. No losers. Every game ends in a tie."
