Gossett to participate at Ala. Sports Festival
Cropwell —
Zeke Gossett of Cropwell will compete this month in the inaugural bass fishing competition of the Alabama Sports Festival.
The 13-year-old fisherman was the 2009 Bass Federation/FLW Alabama Youth Champion and the 2008 BASS Alabama Youth Champion. He also finished as last year’s Southeastern BASS Youth Runner-up.
A member of the Blue Eye Junior Bassmasters, Zeke has fished in tournaments with his father, Curtis Gossett, since he was six years old. He has obtained sponsorship by Vicious Fishing and is a member of Strike King’s junior pro staff.
Lakeside Landing in Cropwell will host the state sports festival’s bass fishing tournament on June 18 and 19. A total of 23 other sports, including swimming, BMX, billiards, soccer, basketball, baseball, and volleyball, will comprise the festival at various venues in the Birmingham metro area.
