Services for Bonnie L. Lovell of Ashville, Alabama were held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Pinedale Baptist Church with Bro. Nathan Albano and Bro. Josh Carrier officiating.
Mrs. Lovell passed away Monday, June 7, 2010.
Interment was in the Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Margaret.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, and by a son.
Mrs. Lovell is survived by her husband Michael Lovell; two sons, Troy (Krissy) Williams of Pell City, Brian (Angie) Williams of Pell City; sister, Mashcielle Simpkins; brothers, Jack, Gene, Lynn, and Mike Newman; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was born in Somerville, Alabama. Mrs. Lovell worked in the healthcare field first at the Baptist Home for Senior Citizens, and then at The Village of Cook Springs, for a total of 21 years. She was an active member of Pinedale Baptist Church. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Miss Karly Jean Meeks
Services for Karly Jean Meeks, age 17, of Pell City, Alabama will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010, at 10:00 AM at Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City. Rev. Dale Foote will conduct the service. The family will receive friends Friday, August 13, from 5 - 8 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Valley Hill Memorial Gardens.
Miss Meeks is survived by her mother, Jennifer Stevens, of Mississippi; father, Don Meeks of Pell City, Alabama, sister, Karie Meeks of Pell City, Alabama; half brother, Logan Hamm of Calera, Alabama; half sister, Taylor Stevens, of Mississippi; grandmothers, Ann Clark of Pell City, Alabama and Lori Chandler of Lincoln, Alabama; also, several cousins, aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be Don Meeks, Mark Lee, Roger Stewart, Tony Hamlin, T. J. Lovell, and Gene Hamlin.
Karly was a student at Pell City High School where she was a member of the Community Service Club. She was also a member of Seddon Baptist Church.

Mr. Gordon Winston Hoskins, Sr.
Gordon Winston Hoskins, Sr., age 89, of Cropwell, Alabama passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Osborn.
Mr. Hoskins is survived by his daughter, Barbara Re of Charleston, South Carolina; son, Gordon Hoskins, Jr. of Cropwell, Alabama; sisters, Miriam Newman of Gainesville, GA, Mildred Schmitt of Adams, Tennessee and Carol Dennis of Ennis, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Tammy Downing Hayes
Services for Tammy Downing Hayes, age 44, of Springville, Alabama will be held at 7:00 p.m. this evening, August 12, 2010 at Village Chapel with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Hayes is survived by her husband, Phillip Warren Hayes; daughter, Jami (Chris) Barfield; and parents, Ralph and Edith Downing.
She was a graduate of Gadsden High School and was employed with Publix Super Market for five years.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

A memorial service for James Ray “Poppy” Hughes, age 72, of Pell City, Alabama will be held this evening, Thursday, August 5, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. at Cook Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Parker officiating.
Mr. Hughes passed away Friday, July 30, 2010.
He is preceded in death by his son, Anthony Ray Hughes.
Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Frankie Hughes; two sons, Mark Randel Rucker and James Randal Hughes; daughter, Tammy Hughes Lee; three brothers, J. D. Hughes, Ross Hughes, Tommy Hughes; four sisters, Vera Webb, Betty Davis, Brenda Frazier, and Mary Lois Morris; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Services for Jack R. Dorough, age 76, of Pell City, Alabama will be held today, August 5, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Dorough passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Edna Dorough and his sister Evelyn Watson.
Mr. Dorough is survived by his wife, Hazel R. Dorough; sons, Robert L. (Brenda) Dorough and Eddie J. (Debra) Dorough; daughter, Susan J. (Terry) Wilson; brother, Joe M. (Sandy) Dorough, sister, Shirley (Hugh T.) Lonergan; five grandchildren, Natasha (Daniel) O’Konski, Rebecca (Joey) Lee, Josh Dorough, Matthew Wilson, and Colton Dorough; four great grandchildren, Alyssa and Kirsten O’Konski and Mykah and Mason Lee.
Mr. Dorough was a member of the Cropwell Baptist Church.

Mr. Donald D. Lesley
Services for Donald D. Lesley, age 63, of Ashville, Alabama were held Monday, August 2, 2010 at Usrey Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Tibbs officiating.
Interment was in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Lesley passed away Friday, July 30, 2010.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Velma Lesley; two brothers and one sister.
Mr. Lesley is survived by his wife, Louise Lesley; sons, William (Regina) Lesley, Brian (Miranda) Lesley, and Eric (Linda) Lesley; daughter, Connie (Dewayne) Bowlin; sisters, Gladys (Louis) Golden and Sue Lynn; brother, Johnny Franklin, six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Mr. Lesley will be missed by all that knew him. Especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren for being their special Paw-Paw.

Mrs. Virginia “Miss Ginger” Roberts
Services for Virginia “Miss Ginger” Roberts, age 67, of Pell City, Alabama were held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Eden Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Jacky Connell and Rev. Bill Ayres officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Roberts; sons, Robbie (B. J.) Roberts, Michael (Glenda) Roberts; sisters, Betty J. (Robert Arthur) Compton, Patricia Ann (Kenneth) Williams, all of Pell City; brother, Frankie Simpkins, Jr. of Clearwater, FL; five grandchildren, Emily Roberts, Jeffrey Roberts, Justin Roberts, Jason Roberts, and Trey Roberts.
Mrs. Roberts attended Eden Westside Baptist Church. She operated Miss Ginger’s Day Care for over 25 years.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Armstrong, Jeff Roberts, Trey Roberts, Terry Rowe, Gaylon Willis, and Jeff White.
Honorary Pallbearers were Paul Manning, Ken Crowe, Jeff Brown, Stan Batemon, and Mike Bowlin.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Pell City Humane Society.
