Talladega —
An Odenville couple was arrested at a Talladega bowling alley last week after being found to be intoxicated and ignoring their one-year-old child.
James Derrick Hanson, 27, and his wife Brandy Nicole Hansen, 25 were both arrested at the scene. Their one-year-old child was turned over by the Department of Human Resources to the mother’s parents, who live in Leeds.
Patrons and staff at the bowling alley reported the couple to police at 10 p.m. after the baby continued to cry and the couple—who said they didn’t bring any milk—continued to bowl.
Talladega Police Chief Alan Watson said of those who witnessed the scene, “That really concerned them.”
James Hansen was arrested on charges from an outstanding felony warrant from Shelby County.
He was wanted for a probation violation stemming from a conviction for theft of property.
He was also charged with public intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Brandy Hansen was charged with the unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Hydrocodone), a Class C felony, and public intoxication.
