Leeds —
Connecting statewide nonprofit organizations with new potential donors, February 2 has been declared Alabama Gives Day.
The Alabama Association of Nonprofits is teaming up with the Alabama Broadcasters Association and the Razoo Foundation to provide “one massive opportunity to support local nonprofits.”
Local nonprofits like the Leeds Arts Council, Leeds Jane Culbreth Library (under the public libraries of Jefferson County) and Leeds Outreach are among thousands of organizations vying for donations on February 2.
Striving to raise as much money as possible in a 24-hour period, Alabama Gives Day begins at midnight February 2 via a secure website owned by the Alabama Association of NonProfits called Nonprofits Matter. From there you choose the non-profit you’d like to give to and click on that organization’s name. The minimum amount to donate is $10.
These donor dollars will help area non-profit organizations continue to provide programming, fund events and fulfill their missions.
As seen at www.algives.razoo.com, the goal of Alabama Gives Day is “to showcase the collective work of Alabama’s incredible and diverse nonprofit sector while providing a community platform that allows them to individually showcase their incredible missions, the impact they make, and to help connect new donors to further advance the work they do that improves the overall quality of life for all Alabamians.”
Whether you enjoy seeing plays or concerts at your local community theatre, love checking out books and attending programs at your favorite library or just want to give back, remember to log on to www.alabamagivesday.com on February 2. Your favorite non-profit will thank you for it.
