Confederate Railroad headlining Odenville summer concert

Odenville — The second-annual Odenville Music Festival is scheduled for the afternoon of June 18 at the Old Forestry Seed location at 1550 Simpson Road in Odenville.

With a year of operation under their belt, organizer Adam Pardue said the Cops for Tots benefit has secured country rock greats Confederate Railroad to headline the event, along with 2 Daze Gone and Jeff Otwell from last year’s event.

With the same venue that Pardue said reminded performers of Sloss Furnace last year, attendees will be in for a treat with a bigger, brighter stage show scheduled for the performance.

“[Confederate Railroad] prefer that you hire out the stage, sound and lighting because of the type of performers they are,” coordinator Trese Mashburn said. “Last year, we had two flatbed trucks back-to-back, and we used Jeff Otwell’s sound equipment; and that was great for last year, but we’re really trying to build something up and make it better.”

With the hopes of doubling last year’s nearly-500-person crowd, Pardue has high hopes for the charity event’s future.

“If we can get this on a major level, we’d like to start holding a St. Clair County benefit, to take care of any kids or any problems that might come up throughout the year for the whole county,” Pardue said.

Tickets for the event are $10, and will be $12 at the gate.
