The Country Knights Chess Club, which celebrates its first anniversary, is opening a chess school. To mark this achievement, the club encourages people to come and play at its first anniversary chess challenge.
The challenge is on August 7 in the new school at 13260 U.S. Hwy. 411, Suite 200 in Odenville, which is next to Dominos. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the morning rounds will be at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. There will be a lunch break from noon until 1 p.m., and afternoon rounds will be at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
People will be placed in brackets depending on their age, and trophies and medals will be awarded to the top players. The entry fee is $15 per player.
