The Ashville Lady Bulldogs fought hard to beat the Gaston Lady Dawgs 46-41 in overtime recently and head coach Dale Beason said that his team is “continuing to improve with every game.”
In the Gaston game, the Lady Bulldogs were up 11-8 and 24-19 in the first and second periods, respectively. The Lady Dawgs then rallied and were up 34-33 at eh buzzer in the third before Ashville was able to tie it 40-40, taking the game into overtime.
Mara Mattison was the top scorer with 10 points; Angelica Gillespie had nine while Kim Fuller and Lori Stephenson had eight apiece.
Ashville 61, White Plains 48
The Lady Dogs took a bit out of White Plains in their previous game at the Gaston Tournament and won 61-48.
Jacie Tipton tipped in 15 points while Kim Fuller had 12 points and Mara Mattison sank eight.
