Eight year-old Michael Boswell of Pell City recently won the Samford Winter Tennis Tournament.
There were eight others kids in his age group and Boswell beat the top seed on Sunday night to claim the victory. Boswell is currently the number one player in his division and age group in the state. He is also part of the Pell City tennis program at the civic center.
“He’s a really good player,” civic center tennis coordinator Sarah Stewart said. “He is part of the up and coming future of Pell City tennis, one of our stars. We have a great bunch of kids in that age group.”
