Brompton home invasion leaves one dead, three in custody
Moody — A home invasion last night left one person dead and three people in custody, pending charges.
The home invasion occurred at 40 Pioneer Trail in the Trails End trailer park just off Interstate 20 in Brompton. The St. Clair Sheriff's Office received a call to Central Dispatch just before midnight Thursday. Three people were taken into custody following the incident, St. Clair County Chief Investigative Officer Joe Sweatt said.
As of Friday afternoon, charges were pending on the three people in custody. The St. Clair County Correctional Office's K-9 team was called to the scene to pick up the trail of the remaining person. That person was apprehended at 1:30 Friday afternoon.
Investigator Sweatt said the name of the deceased person is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin. The three suspects are from the Moody, Leeds and Trussville areas.
The St. Clair Sheriff's Department is handling the case. The Moody Police Department is helping with the investigation.
