Fireworks Show and Traffic Routes

The Pell City Police Department will again provide traffic control for the annual Independence Day Fireworks Show that will be held at Lakeside Park. The display starts at approximately 9 p.m. immediately following the conclusion of the display, the following actions will be taken to empty the park as quickly and safely as possible:

* No traffic will be allowed to turn onto Highway 34 from the Highway 231. Highway 34 from Cropwell Drive to Highway 231 will be 1-way, 2-lanes northbound only.

* No traffic will be allowed to turn onto Cropwell Drive from Highway 231. Cropwell Drive will be 1-way, 2-lanes west to highway 231.

* Traffic that is northbound on Highway 34 will be rerouted onto Mays Bend and Golf Course Road.

* Hardwick Road from Highway 34 will be 2-lanes, 1-way northbound until Maple Village Apartments. Mays Drive will be 1-way north to highway 34.



All drivers leaving the park should be aware of the following mandatory traffic routes.

If you park on the boat launch side of the park, you can only exit right and take Highway 34 south and/or Mays Bend Road or Golf Course Road.

If you park on the ball field side of the park and exit at the 4-way intersection at Highway 34, Cropwell Drive and Bubba Wyatt Road you can only exit north on Highway 34 or west on Cropwell Drive.

If you park on the ball field side of the park and wish to go south on Highway 34 or east on Mays Bend Road or North on Golf Course Road, you must exit at the entrance of the Civic Center, between the Civic Center and the Little Red Barn and turn right onto Highway 34.

Highway 34 between the Little Red Barn and Hardwick Road will be completely closed and is the designated pedestrian cross over for visitors walking back to cars parked north of the Civic Center.
