Blue Devil Boys, Girls Soccer Update

Moody — The Moody boys and girls soccer team opened up the week with mixed reviews against The Donoho School.  The boys rallied late but were still defeated 8-5.  The girls overcame an early deficit and tied the game 2-2 late in the game and that ended up being the final score.

Thursday’s game was bittersweet for the Moody girls. The girls played Sacred Heart and  held a 1-0 lead until the final minutes of the contest.  Sacred Heart dropped one goal in to tie the Moody girls.  The attack was extreme for the Moody girls attempting over 25 shots at the goal but Sacred’s keeper held strong and the final was 1-1.

Friday was a different story for both teams.  The Moody boys traveled to Erwin for their second area game.  This time it was the Moody boys sharing the wealth when it came to goal scoring.  Their leading scorer for the game was Brian Meadows.  However, they also received goals from Blake Spiker, Harley Gardner, Arsh Patel, and Kyle Parker.  Before the end of the first half the Devils had delivered a shutout against Erwin. Your final at the half was 11-0.

The girls welcomed Pleasant Grove to Bill Morris Stadium.  The girls got off to a slow start with Abbie Neal giving the Lady Devils just a 1-0 lead at the half.  However they rebounded strong the second half with Haley Johnson putting in 3 goals for the Lady Devils ending the game with a 4-0 Moody victory.  The girls improved their record to 4-1-2 while the boys are 4-2 on the season.
